The disaster that was the Katie Couric interview of Sarah Palin is as awkward and painful to watch as her answers were confusing and illogical. It has best been likened to a 5th grader giving an oral book report on a book she has never read, but nevertheless ineffectively tries to fake her way through. Unfortunately, the stakes are a bit higher when it comes to a candidate who is trying to place herself one 72 year-old heartbeat away from the Presidency. No wonder the McCain campaign has sheltered her from any media exposure. Hopefully her performance in the interview will raise enough red flags to prompt the American people to demand more vetting of this candidate and her ideology.
In the first clip, she makes the inexplicable point that reducing taxes has to be accompanied by tax reductions. That makes sense, right?
Even more painful is her attempt to justify the campaign's claim that Alaska's proximity to Russia gives her foreign policy experience.
